Num 30:2-32:42 / Jer 1:1-2:3/ Jn 18,19 Father, we just thank You so much for sending Your Son Yeshua to come and to die for us. Father we are excited that we can assemble to in an appointed time You have asked us to. You said that You would be here and Father with open arms we ask You to come. We ask for Your Ruach Ha Kodesh, Your Holy Spirit to fall. Father we really want to sense Your presence. Open the eyes of our heart, circumcise our ears so we could hear what You are speaking to the church in these last days. Father, give us the strength to do Your will. We ask this in Yeshuas name. Amen! One of the best ways to acknowledge Him is to obey! What a concept! What is the greatest commandment that He commands us to do? To love Him! Isn’t that interesting! How do you command someone to love you? And yet this is the greatest commandment. We are to love Him with all of our heart. It is exciting to see the Lord waking people up to His very soon return. One of the things I want to start with is that we talked about the torah portion. For those of you that don’t know there is a cycle, the Greek mindset is linear. You just begin here and go and if you missed out then you missed out. How many of you know like with anything you are learning, like a new job or with a computer. You have to hear it more than once. God kind of new that we were that way so He has everything in cycles. We go around, around and around. Often we pick up things that we didn’t pick up last time. How many of you know that God is so deep that we can go around Him a long time and not pick up everything? So we have these so called torah portions. If you like you can go to our website and every week you see a torah portion we are covering. We go trough torah portion from Genesis all the way to Deuteronomy, as an addition to that we cover the rest of the tanach something from the prophets then also we add from Brit Hadasha or the New Testament portion. Num 30:2-32:42 is the portion or partia we are covering but I’m also going to speak a little bit on the book of Jeremiah 1:1-2:3 and I am also going to speak about Jn 18,19 so by the end of the year we have gone through all the gospels and the book of Acts. We have gone through all torah portions, much of the rest of Tanach. Also I try to teach other books of Brit Hadasha as well as time permits. Here we go! Are you ready? Fasten you seat belts. I’m
going to back track just a minute into the last weeks Torah portion to
pick us up to where we are at today. Num
25:1-3 While Israel remained at Shittim, the
people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. Whose
advice was that? Balam. Do you remember Balam in the donkey story? Balam
really wanted to curse Israel and God wouldn’t allow him to curse
Israel. So he said: “Okay, we will do an end run. What we’ll do?
We’ll get them to sin against God and then God will have to get
them!” So He convinced Balaak who was the king of Moab: ”Let’s go
and get the Midianites! Let’s see what they can do!” What is
interesting is that Midianites talked to the daughters of Moab into
doing this with the sons of Israel to bring about Gods wrath. For they invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. So Israel joined themselves to Baal of Peor, and the LORD was angry against Israel. Baal of Peor was a horrible pagan deity that they worshipped. He was a bad god. He was basically The Crap On God god. It was horrible and you can see why God was angry. Now where did Moab come from? They came from Lots´ daughters. Where they told not to harass Moabites? God had given the Moabites, Amonites territory so the Moabites had no way to fear. How many of you have been abused by authority? Is this new? Being abused by people in the authority has been around for a long time. Abusive authority - what kind of parents would do this to their daughters? What kind of a parent would tell their daughters to do whoredom with Israelites. So great was their hatred towards Israel that they prostituted their own daughters to bring death upon Israel. (Sound familiar?) Think
about the people today that are sacrificing their kids. They hate Israel
so much that they are willing to blow up their own kids. That’s a lot
of hatred. Is it that or you really don’t care about your family. Did
the Moabites really put their family first? Obviously not! I
don’t know if you knew this but Moabites were always into child
sacrifice: 2. Kgs 3:26,27 (Sound familiar?) When the king of Moab saw that the battle had gone against him, he took with him seven hundred swordsmen to break through to the king of Edom, but they failed. They
try to get the heck out of Moabite country and get to Edomite country
and Edomites won’t allow men so they are trapped. What did the king
do? Then
he took his firstborn son, who was to succeed him as king, and offered
him as a sacrifice on the city wall. The fury against Israel was
great; Think
about it. Look what is happening right now? The homicide bombers are
blowing the kids up and everyone is mad at Israel that they are killing
their kids. That just shows you how upset they are. Do you see this
pattern here repeating? They are killing their own kids and their
indignation is against Israel not against people that are killing their
own kids. Do you see how patterns repeat themselves? They
withdrew and returned to their own land. Israel was so disgusted that he killed his own son that they said: “This guy is nuts!” Rabbi
Mel Glazer said: “We can give you Arabs for
killing our kids, but we will never forgive you for making us kill
yours!” That’s whole different mindset Num 30:1,2 Moses said to the heads of the tribes of Israel: "This is what the LORD commands: When a man makes a vow to the LORD or swear an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said. That’s pretty strong! Long time ago people just kept their word they didn’t even had to write down anything. Whatever happened to that? People nowadays don’t even respect their own words and we don’t trust what other people say. That has totally gone by the wayside. He says that we are not to break an oath if we make a vow or swear an oath. Deut 23:23 whatever
your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow
freely to the LORD your God with your own mouth. How did God create the world? With words. Words have power and He has given us power and teeth are like gates. You have got to guard what you say because you are the master of your words as long as you don’t say anything. The minute you talk you loose control you can’t get them back. So you are a master of your words as long as you are not speaking. How many of you have said something and people have said: “Interpreter it!” Matt
12:36 But I tell you that men will have to give
account on the Day of Judgment for every careless (
idle, ineffectual, non-use) word. word they have spoken. One
of the thoughts that the Sages have I am not saying this is true but it
gives us something to ponder. They say that God has given everyone a
certain number of words and once they are used up that’s it. If
that’s the case we really better protect put value on what we say. Is
God going to ask us to do something’s He is not willing to do? If God
tells us that whatever we swear whatever we say we have to do. Do you
think He is not going to follow up His word? His word lasts forever!
Doesn’t it? Will He ever break His word? Would you think about people today who don’t keep their
word? Obviously they are not worried about their reputation their name.
Most people they desire a good name. We are going to look at it here
just a minute. What I want to point out is what this commandment teach
us about God. Lot of people they don’t understand commandment. Lets
say that you would go to Nevada. Look at some of their laws. They
legalized prostitution, gambling. What does that tell about the people
who run that state? They have some problems. Okay? When we look at Gods
commands then instead of: ”Jolly, He is such a hard God I can’t
steal!” We need to reflect on what is this telling me about God. What
does this teach about God? Ex
6:8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and
to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD.'
" If
God says it I think it’s going to happen. Now there is a big
difference between a heritage and an inheritance. What’s the
difference? An inheritance is something that you can turn and give it
away. Heritage you cannot give it away. It is yours forever you cannot
give it away. He says He is giving them the land and He swore. Is 54:7-10 "For a
brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you
back? In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with
everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you," says the LORD
your Redeemer.” To me this
is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah
would never again cover the earth. So
now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you
again. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my
unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor
my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has
compassion on you. He is speaking to whom here? Israel, Judah. Remember day with the Lord is how many years? So thousand years is a long time for us but in the Lords eyes it’s how long? So Israel basically had forsaken the Lord. When you think about that then it has been only couple of days in God’s mind it’s a small moment. How many believe that God is going to break the covenant of the rainbow and flow the earth again? if you believe that He swore that. Then you also believe that He swore this covenant with Israel. If the church believes in replacement theology they say that the Lord is the breaker of His word. So what are you saying about God. If you say that the church has replaced Israel then you say either He breaks covenants, He is a liar or you are also saying that He wasn’t able. Remember Moses’ complaint after God wanted to destroy Israel. He said:” Then the nations will say that You were not able to bring them in!” So the church has to be real careful because if they say that God did away with the covenant they are saying one of the two things. Either He is a liar or the nations were right and He couldn’t do it. So we really got to take a harder look on what we are saying in our theology. Jer 33:23-26 The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: "Have you not noticed that these people are saying, 'The LORD has rejected the two kingdoms he chose'? Were have we heard that before? It wasn’t two years ago with affair. There is a guy that has a booth right opposite of us and he is looking at our booth and it looks Jewish but it also looks Christian and ha cannot figure us out. He is like: “Who are you? What are you doing?” He was probably in his early twenties. He thinks eventually he got us figured out he comes up to me he looks at me and says: “You killed my Jesus!” “I wasn’t even alive then, guy!” I think it is so funny how people have this concept that the Lord has totally cast off the nation of Israel. Look what He says to people that do that: So they despise my people and no longer regard them as a nation. This is what the LORD says: 'If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed laws of heaven and earth, then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.' What is God saying? The Brit Hadassah (New Covenant) if you look at Jeremiah 31 is about Judah and Israel and Gentiles are crafted into that. He says if the sun and moon be … then I will cast them off. The last time I looked. The sun and the moon are still there guys. Ps 105:8-11 He remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations, Some say a generation is 40 years some say hundred years. Let’s take a minimum of forty years. That means He has made that covenant for 40 000 years. How long the man has been on the earth? I think there is a long ways to go. No matter how you look at it. The covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: "To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit." The whole debate over the land right now really is demonic. The people don’t understand it. The devil wants to say: ”God breaks His word or He is not able to do it!” So that is that this whole thing is all about. Look at what the Lord says concerning His word. Ps 138:2 I will bow
down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. God’s reputation is on the line. Lot of people talk about the name of
God and how exalted it is. But He says: ”What I say, I exalt above My
name!” You keep your reputation by keeping your word. So we are
talking about vows today. So I really wanted to show you how God tells
us: ”We really need to keep our oaths, vows.” Don’t you think God
is going to keep His vows and oaths?
So these are excellent line
up of Scriptures to talk to people who are really holding unto that
replacement theology. To show them that either God is a liar or you say
that He is not able to fulfill His word. Neither one of those are good
options. 2 Ti
2:13 if we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot
disown himself. So even if we are not faithful to the covenant He is going to be faithful to His end of it. Now lets get back to numbers and look ate the vow situation. Num 30:3-8 "When a young woman still living in her father's house makes a vow to the LORD or obligates herself by a pledge and her father There are a lot of technical things here. First of all she is roughly not under twelve. She is a youth. Little girls cannot make a vow so she needs to be of a youth age. But you also see that it’s a short window. She is not an adult, she is not on her own either and she is still in her father’s house. hears about her vow or pledge but says nothing to her, then all her vows and every pledge by which she obligated herself will stand. But if her father forbids her when he hears about it, none of her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand; the LORD will release her because her father has forbidden her. What this is showing is great protection for the words of our mouth but this also is showing if the father is silent he is giving his ascent. Silence gives ascent so when persecutions come like it did in the holocaust when the world was silent they were giving their ascent that’s an underlined thing here. But the other interesting thing here is that how many of you know? I didn’t have daughters I just have two sons. I love my two sons so I cannot explain to you what this is like but how many of you that have daughters that feel they say things that they shouldn’t say? I don’t know so I want to ask you guys! Any of you that had daughters that are 12-16 do they every say things like: “I am going to marry that man!” And father comes and says: “Oh-no, you are not!” So there is a lot of protection there if a young daughter would say something and the father would say: “Okay! Zippo! Nullify that there!” "If she marries after she makes a vow or after her lips utter a rash promise by which she obligates herself and her husband hears about it but says nothing to her, then her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand. But if her husband forbids her when he hears about it, he nullifies the vow that obligates her or the rash promise by which she obligates herself, and the LORD will release her. There is a lot of protection that is there and I think that’s what the Lord is showing as our Father. Within the bible they say that as a diamond has 70 facets so often gentile mind sees the one facet and they say that the other side is wrong but they don’t see that there are layers just like in the story of six blind men and elephant. One of them grabbing the elephants leg and says: “The elephant is like a tree!” The other one grabbing his nose saying: ”No the elephant is like a big rope!” So in Scripture we often can look at it in so many different levels. The Bride representing the Israel or believers. How many times as believers we have said things that we have wished God had nullified as our Father. So that’s also another interesting level. What happens to the man if he vows a vow? If he says something? Who disavows a mans vow? He is in trouble. How many times you men have said something you wish you hadn’t said? What happened was they called the bei tint (the house of judgment) at the synagogue? And three members had to decide if the man could get out of that vow. Now there is a lot of misunderstanding here when in Yom Kippur they go to the vows they said. You can never cancel a vow between you and someone else if you have done a contract. You couldn’t disavow that. You can disavow only what you have said between you and the Lord. How many of you have heard about the story about judge Jepthah. Do you remember about the vow he made? Jg 11:30,31 And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD: "If you give the Ammonites into my hands, whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the LORD's, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering." Jg 11:34-39 When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of tambourines! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter. When he saw her, he tore his clothes and cried, "Oh! My daughter! You have made me miserable and wretched, because I have made a vow to the LORD that I cannot break." "My father," she replied, "you have given your word to the LORD. Do to me just as you promised, now that the LORD has avenged you of your enemies, the Ammonites. But grant me this one request," she said. "Give me two months to roam the hills and weep with my friends, because I will never marry." "You may go," he said. And he let her go for two months. She and the girls went into the hills and wept because she would never marry. After the two months, she returned to her father and he did to her as he had vowed. And she was a virgin. From this comes the Israelite custom A lot of people think that he offered her as a burnt offering. No, that’s not what it says. She knew no man, never got married so his generation died off because she was the only child. So those of you that thought that he offered her up. No, he did not. You can see all through here. It simply met she couldn’t get married and therefore seed stopped. You can still see what
happens when you vow a vow and say something. You are expected to keep
it. Jubilee
year is only kept when all 12 tribes represented in the Land!!! Le
25:1,2,9,10 The LORD said to Moses on Mount Sinai, "Speak to the Israelites and
say to them: 'When
you enter the land I
am going to give you, then
the land itself must observe a Sabbath to the LORD. Then have the trumpet
sounded everywhere on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of
Atonement sound the trumpet throughout your land. Consecrate the
fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its
inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for
you; each one of you is to return to his family property and
each to his own clan. What
happens is that because all Israel is not in Israel they are scattered
they have not been able to have a jubilee year for thousands of years.
That’s why they don’t keep the jubilee year because they can’t
because until all Israel is gathered into the land and if the Lord
returns in the year of jubilee that’s why He is gathering His elected
from four wings into the land of Israel because they need to be in the
land so He can proclaim the year of jubilee. So that’s why the devil
is all upset all the Jews, alijah to Israel because he doesn’t want
Gods word to be fulfilled. So you see the demonic plan that is really
going on? God wants them all there. Nu
34:1-12 The LORD said to Moses, "Command the Israelites and say to
them: 'When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allotted to you as
an inheritance will have these boundaries: “Your southern side will
include some of the Desert of Zin along the border of Edom. On the east,
your southern boundary will start from the end of the Salt Sea, 4
cross south of Scorpion Pass, continue on to Zin and go south of Kadesh
Barnea. Then it will go to Hazar Addar and over to Azmon, 5
where it will turn, join the Wadi of Egypt and end at the Sea.
“‘Your western boundary
will be the coast of the Great Sea. This will be your boundary on the
west. “‘For your northern boundary,
run a line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor 8
and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath. Then the boundary will go to Zedad, 9
continue to Ziphron and end at Hazar Enan. This will be your boundary on
the north. " 'For your
eastern boundary, run a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham. 11
The boundary will go down
from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue along the
slopes east of the Sea of Kinnereth. 12 Then
the boundary will go down along the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea.
”‘This will be your land, with its boundaries
on every side.' " You
see the word “border” everywhere. Borders that were promised. Map.
You can see the borders that God gave to Israel. So Israel was supposed
to basically have part of Jordan, all of Lebanon and Syria. I don’t
know if you realize but if God talks about al the borders He gave to
Israel. To the west the border was until Mediterranean sea, up to Syria,
down to Sinai Peninsula and Jordan river but it’s a lot more than what
you may think. De
19:14 Do not move your neighbor's boundary stone set up by your
predecessors in the inheritance you receive in the land the LORD your
God is giving you to possess. How
many of you would like that if you bought some property and your
neighbor would move the land property stake in about 10ft? Hey, what are
you doing!? So if you think about commandment God says: “I am all
about borders! Don’t you remove your neighbor’s border!” Messiah
did not come to remove or change borders. What in going to distinguish
this last generation before Messiah comes is that it wants to break down
borders. It won’t make the difference between a man and a woman, good
and evil, right and wrong, truth and lies, what is permitted and what is
not, One World with no borders. See, God is all about borders. Man must break down borders. To be continued… Pastor Mark Biltz Elshaddai ministries |
