A child’s love

“And Yeshua called a child, and made him stand in the midst of them…” Matthew 18:2

In the midst of your busyness, take a moment today to remember that life is not about things, but about relationships. Let child psychologist James Dobson’s writing help you.

“Some time ago, my friend punished her three-year-old daughter for wasting an entire roll of gold tissue paper to cover her cardboard box. Money was already tight and the man was upset that his daughter had used up the paper she wanted to use to make decorations for the upcoming holidays.
Despite the punishment, the daughter gave the box to her father the next morning. He said: “Here is a gift for you, dear daddy!”

The man was very embarrassed by his reaction the previous day. But yet he became angry again when he discovered that his daughter had brought him an empty box. He said irritably: “Don’t you know that when you give a gift, there must be something inside the box?” The daughter looked at him with tears in her eyes and said with a trembling voice: “But daddy, it’s not empty.” I blew there lots of kisses and put a thousand hugs and lots of love in there and I packed it just for you.” The man’s heart broke and, hugging his daughter, he asked for forgiveness.

A friend of mine said that he kept a golden box under his bed for years, and every time he was having a hard time, he would take an imaginary hug from it and remind himself of the love with which his child placed it there. In fact, every parent has received a golden box full of unconditional love from their child. No one could wish for a more precious treasure than this.”
