The little boy put on his warm clothes and then said to his father, “Okay dad, I’m ready.”
His father, who was a pastor, said: “Ready for what?”
“Father, it’s time to go outside and give our leaflets.”
“Son, it’s very cold outside and it’s raining.”
The child looked at the father in surprise and said, “But, father, people want to know about God even on rainy days. Please! “
Dad took a little momentum and then said: “Alright son! There are flyers here, but be careful! ”
“Thank you, Dad!”
And the son went out in the rain. The 11-year-old walked through all the village streets, handing out leaflets to the people he saw.
After two hours of rain and cold weather, when he had his last flyer, the boy stopped on the street to see if there was anyone else to give the church invitation to, but the streets were completely empty. Then he turned to the first house he saw, approached the front door, rang the bell several times and waited, but no one came out.
Eventually the boy turned around to leave, but something stopped him. The child came back and started ringing the doorbell and banged on the door with his fists. He waited.
Finally, the door was carefully opened.
With a very sad look, the lady came out and asked gently:
“What can I do for you, son?”
With bright eyes and a happy smile, the child said:
“I’m sorry, but I just want to tell you that God loves you, and I came to give you my last flyer that tells you about God and His great love.”
The boy gave her a flyer.
“Thank you, son,” the lady replied and took the leaflet.
The next Sunday morning, the pastor was standing behind the pulpit, and when the service began, he asked:
“Does anyone have a testimony or something you want to share?”
An elderly woman stood up in the back row of the church. As she began to speak, her eyes got wet:
“No one in this church knows me. I’ve never been here, I wasn’t even a Christian last Sunday.
My husband died some time ago, leaving me alone in this world. Last Sunday was especially cold and rainy day. I was very sad and I thought I had no hope anymore and I didn’t want to live anymore.
Then I took a chair and a rope and went up to the attic of my house. I tied one end of the rope to the roof railing; then I climbed on the chair and wrapped the other end of the rope around my neck.
Then I got up. I stood in the chair so lonely and heartbroken and was about to jump when I suddenly heard someone knocking on the door.
I thought I’d wait a bit, maybe they would go away.
So I waited and waited, but the knocking on the door got louder and louder. It was so loud that I could not stand it anymore.
I was wondering who could it be? No one has ever come to my door or visited me.
I took the rope off my neck and came to open the door while the doorbell was still ringing and the door was knocked on.
When I opened the door, I couldn’t believe my eyes: a boy was standing there with bright eyes.
He had such a smile, oh, I can’t describe it! The words he said made my heart pound: “Lady, I want to tell you that God really loves you.” When the little angel left, I closed the door and read every word on the flyer.
Then I went to the attic to remove the chair and the rope. I don’t need them anymore. As you can see. I am now a happy child of the Great God.
Today I came to this church to personally thank the little angel of God who came just in time and actually saved my life from doom. I am now a child of the Great King and my heart is so happy! “.
Everyone was crying in church.
The pastor came down from the pulpit to the first bench in front, where the little angel was sitting; took the boy in his arms and cried uncontrollably.
