Andreas Patz: “If God allows wars, does that mean He approves of them?”

Again and again the mantra is repeated among Christians that because God promised another war, an aggressive attack, because He warned of it, “you hear of wars and rumors of wars,” therefore He approves of it and has almost planned it. This issue has become more acute due to recent events in Israel.

Obviously, there is someone who wants and is extremely interested in having the population of the earth think exactly that way, because that way of phrasing the question would not only justify any evil person who kills people, but would show that Christian indifference to the misfortune of others is almost a virtue.

Someone said: “Well, what can we do when the Lord Himself orchestrated it!…” and so you can live peacefully, talking thoughtfully about the end times and the signals of the second coming of Jesus. In short, everything is according to the Scriptures: “Trouble me not, the doors are already locked and my children are in bed with me; I can’t get up and help you.”

The sad thing is that in modern Christianity it is becoming a kind of mainstream, an axiom, the utterance of which removes all responsibility from you and all the truths spoken by the Savior in the parable of the Good Samaritan fall away like useless husks.

But even this is not the most tragic.

The problem is much more serious and consists in the fact that the Lord is presented in a completely foreign light to Him in all these fantasies. In fact, He is said to be good. It is first. And secondly, that His purpose is

“That we could live a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the eyes of God, our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:2-4).

Imagine the Almighty who wants all people to be saved, but at the same time instigates the brains of some maniac who will kill hundreds of thousands of people and thus deprive them of the opportunity to come to the knowledge of the truth. Did you imagine? Now consider that that is exactly what you are saying!

“God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone.” Again, He himself does not tempt anyone! Exclamation mark. The evil that is ruling the world today has nothing to do with God. He only prophesied these events. And the Lord Himself tempts no one. “How can this happen? After all, everything is under His control!” – we hear from all sides today. But like this:

But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to.” (James 1:14-15 NIV).

Death, produced in vast quantities every day, gives birth to sin. Which in turn has nothing in common with God either. I hope that at least I don’t need to explain it to you. So, dear ones, think carefully before you spread someone’s invented ideas that have nothing to do with the Bible.

Blessings!
