Boris Grisenko: Do not look down on those who are not where you are

Friends, it is extremely important for us to support each other during this difficult time. We should not look down on our brothers and sisters who are not where we are. I appeal to those who are in Kyiv. Or in Kharkiv. Or in other cities of Ukraine, where the situation is difficult. We should not look down on those who are in Western Ukraine, especially those who are now in evacuation in different countries. No! The Lord has assigned his/her place to everyone. We should rejoice for each other, support, strengthen, comfort each other, because it is said: “Comfort, comfort my people, says your God” (Isaiah 40:1).

No one should be arrogant that he is in an extreme situation and he showed courage, boldness and so on. God has everything written down, friends! But even if someone for some time succumbed to fears, panic, friends, who are we to judge someone? Recall situations when you succumbed to fear or even panic. We cannot judge our brothers and sisters. Perhaps at the next stage they will show such courage and such nobility, which will become an example for us. We should rejoice for each other, bless, support and forgive each other.

The Spirit of God is watching as we go through these difficult times. May the unity among all of us only grow stronger and deeper. And if someone understands that he turned out to be strong in spirit, then it is written:

“You strong ones lift up and bear the infirmities of the weak. And do not please yourselves, but please one another” (Romans 15:1-2).

If we do not reject and humiliate anyone, but support and comfort those who are having a hard time, then our loving Father will forgive us our weaknesses. Even our shortcomings! And He will embrace us and say: “You are My own child and you understood My heart, you understood how much I love all My children. Thank you, son, thank you, my dear daughter, for the way you have shown My love, humility and comfort to other My own children.”

And then the presence of God will so strongly begin to fill all the space between us, to unite us, wherever we are. And His grace will thus unfold and open our spiritual eyes to God’s Glory. And so this glory will descend and cover us, that the people of this world, who are alone, in fear, in bitterness, in disappointment, in hopelessness, they will see the radiance of this Glory, even if they have never experienced it and will run To it. Run to us! Because they will see a city of refuge, a church that the Lord has glorified as His refuge for all.
