One of the names of God – El Shaddai – God Almighty, God strong. In Proverbs it is said: “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous flees into it – and is safe”, translated into modern Russian – “… and protected”. Shaddai (Saddai) is an abbreviation of three words (Shomer, Dlatot and Yisrael) – Guard of the doors of Israel.
God loves us with a sacrificial love, protects us, gives us everything we dream of, because He is LOVE, He is ALL-POWERFUL. He has no unloved children deprived of His love. And the place where this amazing love of the Father for us is revealed in a special way, where God makes us strong and happy is God’s family (congregation, church).
God’s eternal and constant love for Israel is evidence of His eternal and constant love for us, His children (Jeremiah 31:1-4, 17-20). God wants to be always with us, wants to always and everywhere show us His love, embrace us, and we cannot limit the filling of God’s love from Shabbat to Shabbat – we can walk in His presence all week long.
Even when it seemed to us that God was far away, that He loves us, but from afar; when we thought that He did not care about our sorrows, God continues to love, call, wait for all His children (even those who have temporarily departed from Him). He does everything so that the son / daughter who retreated returns. God answers to everyone and loves everyone as if he were His only beloved child.
Now is the time for such a fellowship, such a trust in God, which was not there before. Understand, we cannot live in this world without His love. Without Him, we will not succeed. One must open oneself to the fullness of the Father’s heart, the fullness of real love, the fullness of life. We cannot be satisfied with the surrogates of this world when we have such a loving God. When we begin to open up more to God’s love, we begin to understand how Omnipotent He is, when we begin to believe in such love of God for us, then our life passes in God’s presence all the time, our faith is strengthened, because faith works by love.
Open yourself to the action of the Holy Spirit so that He will show you where you are still hiding from God’s love, where you are afraid to be disappointed. Go deeper into what the Lord says in His Word, at Shabbat, community prayers. Remind each other and yourself that God is always there, that He is the One who is love. The One who always thinks of us with love (even when we move away from Him, when we do not have any special achievements and great breakthroughs). Keep remembering the best things in your life and thank the Father that He acted and was with you in these moments.
