“And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything impossible for me? Behold, I will gather them from all the countries into which I drove them in my anger and in my fury and in my great indignation, and I will bring them back to this place and give them a safe dwelling. They will be My people and I will be their God. And I will give them one heart and one way, so that they fear me all the days of their lives, for their own good and the good of their children after them. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, according to which I will not turn away from them to do them good, and I will put My fear in their hearts, so that they will not depart from Me. And I will rejoice in them, doing good to them, and I will plant them firmly on this earth, with all my heart and with all my soul” (Jeremiah 32:26-27; 37-41).
The Lord gave me these words from the book of the prophet Jeremiah, and I understood that the Lord wants to convey to us the reality of the promise for Ukraine, the reality of the promise, first of all, for the children of God in Ukraine, for the Jewish New Testament communities in Ukraine, for all who at this time stands firm in God’s Word and is filled with God’s Spirit. He wants to confirm us that the troubles that have come to Ukraine, that have fallen on our land, all the tragic things that are happening now, are really temporary.
God has a plan for Ukraine! This plan is better than we can imagine right now. Better than we can now believe. It was hard for Jeremiah to believe that God would do all this, that he would pay for the land, and this land would belong to his family, that the Lord would restore everything, restore His possession and dominion on this land, which is now suffering so much. So it may be hard for us to believe it, but God has promised and God will confirm it. The promises of God will be 100% fulfilled.
But it is extremely important for each of us in this difficult time, a time of trials and tribulations, to know that you are in the place where the Lord wants him to be. And it is also important to know what you are called to do in this place — how to serve people, what the Lord has entrusted to you today in this place, what place in the Body of the Messiah is yours, what tasks you received from the Lord today for today and tomorrow. You don’t have to look too far. If we look too far, we see God’s hand that will restore everything to a new level and pour out streams on the thirsty. And the dry earth will be transformed by God’s streams, and the desert will bloom like a garden, and the garden will rise like a forest, and the Glory of the Lord will rise above the earth.
If you evacuated with your family, this does not mean that your only ministry is to arrange for your loved ones. By no means! No! If you think so, you are deluded. Wherever you are, in whatever evacuation, in whatever country, you are God’s servants, you are the priests of the Holy One of Israel. Yes, first of all, you need to take care of yourself, of the children and your neighbors. But as you settle down, you need to understand what your service there is. It is important to know with whom you are connected in the Body of the Messiah, who is your guide, who you are responsible for and what you are responsible for. In order for the Lord to accomplish all that He promises, He needs us. And not in general some vague “we” — He needs each of us in his fertile place, in His own family, in His spiritual order.
