God’s plan

Read Ephesians 3:8-20.

For I know the thoughts that I think about you, says the Lord: they are thoughts of peace, but not of calamity, to give you a future and hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

In the early years of our marriage, we had several cats that played freely both indoors and outdoors. Then we had to change our residence, but it was difficult for the cats to adapt to the new place. So that they wouldn’t run away, we kept them within the building for a while. We had to be careful when opening the door. Once, however, one cat managed to get out and I had to look for him in the bushes. Why was it difficult for them to understand that we were now living in a new place and they had to adapt?

When I lost a job I liked, I complained to God about my worries. In the midst of depression, I suddenly remembered the incident with the cats. Maybe it was time to understand that I am now in a new situation?

We often fail to see God’s greater purpose. We complain, bargain and try to get away from the problem. However, God has other plans and if we trust them, we will have a future and hope.
