Have a happy Hanukkah

The feast of dedication. The feast of restoration. (The feast of Jews, and the feast for us)

Jh 10:22 22 Then came the Festival of Dedication[b] at Jerusalem. It was winter,

23 and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade.

(Second- repetetive feast of dedication of the temple).

Hanukkah – victory of light over darkness.

Righteousness over darkness (victory of original over false).

Victory of spiritual over material.

God gave the strong into the hands of the weak, many into the hands of few, evil into the hands or the righteous.

The key words for Hanukkah are: faithfulness, freedom and boldness (even while under pressure remain firm in God)

Zechariah 4:6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Hanukkah  is also a reminder for us, that if the people of God turn to serve idols then punishment will follow  (its inescapable) and in the end only the reminder will be saved.

Rev 2:5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place..   Praised be the holy God of Israel!
