How to overcome temptations

Be bold! Do what God tells you to do in your heart and then you will go through every situation with dignity! God placed into my heart a word about one very important thing – how to overcome the temptations? How to bear the temptations?

This theme is very wide and large. You can not finish it in one service but I will try to do that. Have patience take your pen, notebook and make notes, for you may need this in the future.

When you fall into the temptation then the Bible says that falling into sin means death. It means that when you see a switchboard on the wall, then as a rule there is written on it “high-tension“,that itself says something to you. In old times lightning was drawn on it and written: „Don’t touch! Kills“!
Now days there is nothing written on the switchboard anymore, but you know it already. You haven’t tried to place your finger in it, but you know without touching it that it kills and that is why you wont touch it.

The same thing is with a temptation in your life when you see or feel that you are being tempted or a temptation has come into your life then you must know that if you fall into the temptation or give into it, it kills you. Let no thoughts of anxiety be in your head. Tell: „Satan, get behind me!“ When you think about your problems, then thinking wont solve them

Bible says: In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Phi 4:6-8).

When during the service you only think about your problems, then you have taken your problems from the hands of God back into your own hands and think about them. You don’t trust God and these problems are again your problems.

They are not anymore Gods problems, because when you give your problems to God, it makes them His problems. And they are not your problems anymore. But satan tempts people during the service and tries to remind you all your problems that you wouldn’t learn to think about the Word of God during the service. You think about your problems. I haven’t seen a person that has solved their problems by herself.

I know that God perfectly, ideally, amazingly solves problems. If you think about your problems during the service, then you have already fallen into temptation. You have already fallen into a bony and hairy hand of satan. And this hand doesn’t caress you but strangles in stead. Trust God, don’t be afraid, be bold, go on!
Now lets get into the theme. Temptation – in creek. peirasmo. Probably a word piranha comes from that word. Temptation is like a piranha every time it takes a little piece of your joy. If you let yourself be tempted and you wont resist it, then it will take another piece. So when after the church service you reach home then all your anointing, joy and hope has disappeared. Why?Because temptation by its nature destroys you.

Now a word peirasmos – a temptation, to tempt, a provocation, a discipline, to experience evil. You feel evil. The Word of God is in your heart and you are in a good mood, but suddenly a thought comes and shows your sickness saying: „Look, you are pretty sick, after all you have a cancer. It is written that by His stripes you are healed, but you are still sick.”

You feel evil. You are not happy, there is no hope, hope has disappeared. This means that you experience evil. I will preach on this theme everywhere. If you learn to bear up under temptations, or go victoriously through temptations then the Bible promises that you will get the crown of life. But if you give up, you will die and loose or not receive your crown of life.

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are of the Dispersion, greeting. (Jam. 1: 1).

As you know James was Jesus Christ’s half-brother. They had one mother, but different fathers. For a very long time James and his mother lived in unbelief for it is hard to believe when your Son that has born from your womb starts to claim that He is the Son of God. It doesn’t matter that He wasn’t born from a man.
Naturalness or human nature sometimes has a victory and then you forget all your revelations, visitations of the angels, the touch of the Holy Spirit and you are like a normal carnal human being.

We know that the mother of Jesus was not all the time together with Him as He served in the earth – they separated themselves but there came a moment when they repented and conquered the temptation. Then God chose James and we know that he was the pastor of the church in Jerusalem. He was a very concrete, laconic, strict church leader. He was a straight person. He wrote one short letter and there is so much in this letter that it takes a lifetime to learn all this.
First thing when tempter tempts you, it wont bring joy into your life. For the one that tempts you is not a joyful creature. When an evil dog barks at you then there is no joy in your life. This means that the creature that tempts you is not joyful, he doesn’t want the best for you, he hates you and of course when you receive the temptation and don’t know how to resist him, his nature will come inside of you. That is why apostle James said:
Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations; (Jam. 1:2)!

Temptation itself is not joyful. A a rule it is an accusation, a slander, a humiliation, a lack of hope etc… It means no exit. “Why do I have to be happy when these things attack me?”Understand! Bible is not written just like that. An imbecile will rejoice for no reason. When you ask him: „What do you rejoice for?” then he rejoices for no reason. He stills smiles. You ask him: „Why you are in such a good mood?“ He is still smiling and doesn’t know why. When you rejoice you must know why. This is the way it has to be and the most important thing is that you would rejoice for a right reason.

Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations; (Jam. 1:2)!

Temptation – peirasmos (in Greek) means suffering evil, a provocation. Why a provocation? For I believe that at the time when you are tempted, at the time of your temptation it seams that the promises that God has promised you just don’t exist.

It seams that they will never be fulfilled. It seams that they are not allowed for you and God doesn’t exist. This is the goal of the tempter.Temptations are different. There is not only one kind of a temptation. You may be tempted for spiritual reasons.

For example satan tempted me before by saying: “Stop praying in this wonderful heavenly language! You don’t understand what you are praying so what’s the point? Its just rubbish and nonsense.” I was tempted and I thought: “But that’s how it seams. Why to pray for years and no changes.” But I still decided not to give up, I resisted it. The best I could do in this situation was to continue praying.

So temptations can differ. It can be lack of money. The Bible says that God will fulfill our needs with glory in Christ Jesus but you are still in need.
Today one of the sisters spoke well about the tithe. I want you to understand this, I personally heard this from God. Tithe belongs to God, it is His. When you give tithe then you wont receive money from God just because you paid your tithe.

From His grace you recieve food, clothes or the money you need for buying the food and the clothes. It is the grace of God. When you pay the tithe, then Bible very clearly in the 3rd chapter of Malachi claims that He protects you from demons and gives you wisdom about what to do next.

Bring ye the whole tithe into the store-house, that there may be food in my house, and prove me now herewith, saith Jehovah of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before the time in the field, saith Jehovah of hosts. (Mal.3:10, 11)!

He gives you wisdom how to get lots of money. How to win temptations? You will find the answer in the 2. Cor or in the gospels.

But this I say, He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. ( 2Co 9:6).

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again. (Luk. 6:38).

If you would get much money just because you pay tithe then why all these scriptures? “He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” Otherwise it would have been written: “When you pay tithe, you will reap much.”It would have been written like that. It is not written like that. It is written that He will give you wisdom and wisdom always guides you to sow, for wisdom always trusts God.

Wisdom says: „My source is not envy, my source is kindness, for God is my Provider. If my provider says that I must sow then in His eyes I have something too much so I can sow.“ In my eyes it may not seam like that, and that is a mistake. God can not tell you: „Who sows bountifully, will reap bountifully,“ if you have nothing in abundance.

How can He say that? Does it mean that He lies? No. In what He has given you there is always something in abundance so you can sow and reap more. Why? So you could sow again and reap even more, because when you sow into the treasure box of the Church then you do good not only to one person but to many people and that is a godly wisdom. If you are not paying tithe you have no fear of God.

Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations; (Jam. 1:2)!

Count it all joy! It means that joy doesn’t come by itself. When you have no money, you have no joy. You must learn to rejoice somehow! When there is no answers you must learn to rejoice, because you are tempted! When you have prayed to God and have not received the answer, then it is also a temptation. Someone is tempting you. Someone has closed the door for a time being.

God is saying: „Start to rejoice!“ I don’t know what you need and what you have prayed for but I know that everyone has a need. When we believe in God and pray in the name of Jesus then everyone has a problem that is not yet solved. And unsolved problem is a temptation. It is not final it is a temporary temptation. First thing that God wishes, He says: „Start to rejoice !“ Here’s why!

Knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience. (Jam1:3).

Otherwise you wont become patient and learn to suffer. For it is already in the human nature: “God you are Almighty! You have allowed me to pray and fulfill all my needs. I pray now and thank You for the immediate answer.”

Then you look into your wallet – Still empty, nothing happened. Now you have 2 possibilities, to continue to believe in God and rejoice you understand what it means that your hand is empty.

If you didn’t immediately receive what you prayed for then it means that you are a very impatient person. If you didn’t right a way receive what you prayed for then God is healing your nervous system. He is turning it into iron and establishing your faith. Because if 1 000 000 dollars would solve everything, it would appear on your hand.

For Him it is not a problem. He is saying: „If you fall into different temptations and ask God on the basis of His Word in the name of Jesus and you wont receive it then it is a provocation.“ This provocation is not from God nor from people but to change you and to teach you to be patient and full of hope towards God and rejoice because God is more important then anything else.
