I cried the other day. I talked with the Lord. I told Him about the military peace operation that Putin is carrying out in Ukraine.
That is terrible! Thousands of people have been killed! How many thousands! Can you imagine that? Millions of people are fleeing. No houses, no bread and no clothes. A devastation that cannot be told in a fairy tale or written with a pen.
Well, I then asked the Lord why Putin is killing Ukraine? Why is he killing thousands of people?
And here the Lord began to laugh. Of course it made me nervous. I even got angry.
“What’s so funny?” I muttered rudely.
“You understand, brother,” the Lord told me, “he is a galley slave. Do you remember how he proudly announced his status?”
“Yes, I remember.”
“But what is the role of the slave? Is he free? After all, he does what is intended for him to do, the tasks that are given to him, he fulfills. Who gives him these tasks? You give. He satisfies your desires. He serves you. And you are satisfied! You sing in jubilation, ‘Oh, well done!'”
I almost choked: “We? Who are we?” I cried.
“You, it’s you, the whole nation. All together and separately. You applaud and praise your president in every possible way.”
The Lord was silent.
“Look calmly, your Putin only does what you dictate to him. After all, you demanded the killing of freedom. All of you, from scientists to religious leaders, have killed and are killing freedom. Even Baptists rejoice that Jehovah’s Witnesses were sent to prison. It was you who turned Putin into a director of peace, urging him to go to war with all countries. It was you who lamented the collapse of the USSR and laughed scornfully at the new countries. You killed in Chechnya. Then you killed in Georgia. Now you are killing Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands of you are in tanks and in all kinds of fighter jets leveling cities and you are killing people. Millions of people send ammunition to them, causing death day and night. And now Ukraine is not enough for you, because you want to conquer the whole world. But Putin only fulfills your vile wishes.”
The Lord sighed heavily, stopped and said sadly: “That’s why you all have to go to hell together with Putin. And I can’t help you here in any way.”
Here I sighed. I was silent. And I began to cry!
“God! You reversed the destruction of Nineveh. You saved Nineveh! Can you save Russia?”
“I can,” whispered the Lord, “Russia does not want.”
“Russia, Russia, who kill the prophets and stone to death those who are sent to you! How many times have I wanted to gather your children as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you have not wanted to!” (Matthew 23:37).
