Prayers of intercession 1

Matthew 24:20-21 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

1.  Prayer that Christ would be formed in us. Galatians 4:19 My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you. (NIV)

2.  Prayer that we wouldn’t stop well doing. Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (NIV)

3. Prayer for God to give us the Spirit. Ephesians 1:15-19  For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength (NIV)

4. Prayer not to lose partnership in the gospel. Philippians 1:3,5 I thank my God every time I remember you… because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now (NIV)

5. Prayer for love to grow and for us to be pure and blameless. Philippians 1:9-11 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. (NIV)

6. Prayer to think on the basis of the Word of God with one accord. Philippians 2:2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind (NIV)

7. Prayer that everything should be done without grumbling. Philippians 2:14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing,(NIV)

8. Prayer to rejoice in the Lord. Philippians 3:1 Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! (NIV)

9. Prayer to serve God in the Spirit. Philippians 3:3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit,(NIV)

10. Prayer to reckon with the Word of God. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (NIV)

11. Prayer to live in a way that pleases God. Colossians 1:10  so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. (NIV)

12. Prayer for our spiritual garments to be clean. Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (NIV)

13. Prayer for wives to be humble to husbands, husbands to love wives and for children to be obedient. Colossians 3:18-20 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them. 20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.(NIV)

14. Prayer for the Saints to pray constantly. Colossians 4:2  Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (NIV)

15. Prayer to be able to answer. Colossians 4:6 Let your conversation be always full of grace,seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. (NIV)

16. Prayer to serve the Covenant of the Spirit. 2. Corinthians 3:6 He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. (NIV)

17. Prayer to help us in temptation. Hebrews 2:18  Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. (NIV)

18. Prayer for the Lord to open our hearts. Acts 16:14 One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. (NIV)

19. Prayer for spiritual sacrifices to God. 1. Pe 2:5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood,offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (NIV)

20. Give grace / mercy. Ex 3:21 And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed. (NIV)
