When Jesus appeared to me and told me to teach His people how to be led by the Spirit, He noted, “I did not put prophets in the church to lead people. The New Testament does not say, “For as many as are led by prophets, are the sons of God. ”
“New Testament believers,” Jesus told me, “should not seek guidance from the prophets. The Old and New Testament prophets are somewhat similar. Both see and know things supernaturally. In the Old Testament they had the promise of the New Birth but they didn’t have it yet, so if they wanted to be led by the Spirit, they had to go to someone who was led by the Spirit, but according to the New Testament, every believer has the Spirit of God. They don’t have to go to anyone for guidance. What the ministry of the prophets does according to the New Covenant is that it confirms what someone has already received from the Spirit of God. ”
And if it doesn’t confirm what you already have in the spirit, forget it!
