After Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, at least 462 churches and other buildings belonging to various denominations and religions and about 1,582 cultural infrastructure facilities have been damaged, Christian Megaportal inVictory reports.
During Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine – from February 24, 2022 to July 3, 2023 – 462 churches and other buildings belonging to various denominations and religions were destroyed or damaged in Ukraine. Most of them, or 236, belong to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, according to the Workshop of Academic Religious Studies.

As of June 25, 1,582 objects of cultural infrastructure suffered damage, excluding heritage cultural objects; 585 of them were destroyed, the official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine notes.
The cultural infrastructure of Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporozhye and Lugansk regions suffered the biggest losses.
Total losses:
clubs: destroyed – 281; damaged – 474;
libraries: destroyed – 218; damaged – 380;
museums and galleries: destroyed – 28; damaged – 56;
theaters (including cinemas) and philharmonic societies: destroyed – 10; damaged – 16;
art educational institutions: destroyed – 48; damaged – 71.
