We build an altar to the Lord every day!
In the weekly chapter of Tavo, the Torah teaches us a very important truth – to build an altar to the Almighty and make sacrifices!
Build there an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. Do not use any iron tool on them. Build the altar of the Lord your God with fieldstones and offer burnt offerings on it to the Lord your God. Sacrifice fellowship offeringsthere, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the Lord your God. And you shall write very clearly all the words of this law on these stonesyou have set up.”
Deuteronomy 27:5-8.
We must build an altar to the Lord every day, and we build it from stones, from the Word of God and revelations from the Holy Spirit. This altar must be filled with sacrifices – praise, hymns, correct confession, evidence of the mercy of the Lord!
Such sacrifices are pleasing to the Lord! Fire from Heaven will come to such sacrifices, the Heavenly Father will answer!
“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
Hebrews 13:15-16
