Somehow, in a peasant way, I perceived what was happening around. More precisely, in a Christian way.
If Russia attacked Ukraine, even if you continuously talk about how wrong they are and dangerous, and not like us, then still you can’t hide that even if they are bad, they didn’t attack anyone and we, who are good, attacked them with all our might and killed everyone in a row and destroyed everything around. I tried to integrate into the official reports of the Ministry of Defense, they show their heroes there every day, how some sergeant killed a dozen or two Ukrainian nationalists. What do I see in such a report, what does this hero do? He sat on a tank, took a machine gun, came to the Ukrainian village and killed a dozen or two PEOPLE! Why did he kill? He murdered them because they are Ukrainians! This is exactly what the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.
I’m sitting here and thinking. Who is the real nationalist?
Ukrainians? Looks like no. They didn’t kill the Russians. They did not attack Russia! They lived there by themselves, did not touch anyone, did not attack anyone, did not threaten anyone. And no nation was humiliated, insulted, or tried to be destroyed.
Normal people.
But our Russian patriots? Why did they go to Ukraine? They went there to kill Ukrainians. Why to kill them? Because they are Ukrainians.
Understand? Although they are Russians, they are also Ukrainians, they live in Ukraine and therefore do not have the right to life? Terrible thoughts.
I want to drive them away. I want to tell you how kind, cultured and peaceful the Russians are. I want to but I can not.
Now, if they would stop violence, leave Ukraine, go home with tanks and guns, then there would be a reason to say – these are real heroes, these are courageous people, these are really fighters!
They did not raise a hand against defenseless Ukrainians. They didn’t shoot people, they didn’t destroy their houses, they didn’t burn down schools and hospitals! This is a worthy deed. Only Russians can do that! But!!!
There are no such examples. Russians continue to destroy Ukraine and continue to kill Ukrainians.
And this means that Russians are not peaceful people at all. They act like Nazis. They are cruel.
And I feel ashamed. It makes me sick. It’s disgusting. Because humanity is disappearing, you understand, they are not only killing Ukraine, they are killing me, they are killing Russia. All high spiritual moral qualities inherent in a person disappear. A terrible image of a deadly creature arises. He is without a face. He is the bomb. He is a bullet. He is an arsonist. He is a killer. He kills love. He kills good. It kills faith. He kills grace. He kills. He destroys. He is death!
And I’m on my knees. And I pray to God:
“Hear, O Lord, my words; understand my thoughts. Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God! for I am praying to you. God! Hear my voice early; evil will not dwell with you; the wicked will not stand before Your eyes: You hate all those who do iniquity. You will destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and treacherous. And I, according to the multitude of Thy mercy, will enter Thy house, I will worship Thy holy temple in Thy fear. God! guide me in Your righteousness for the sake of my enemies; Level Your path before me. For there is no truth in their mouths: their heart is destruction, their throat is an open tomb, they flatter with their tongue. Condemn them, O God, let them fall from their plans; according to the multitude of their wickedness, reject them, for they have rebelled against you. And all those who trust in You will rejoice, they will rejoice forever, and You will patronize them; and those who love your name will glory in you. For You bless the righteous, O Lord; with good will, as with a shield, you crown him. (Ps. 5:2-13)
