Don’t let hate take over your heart. There are a lot of terrible things going on right now. Demons simply tear some people apart and do unthinkable things through them. And it is very important at this time to keep your heart in shalom and not allow bitterness to turn your heart against someone. The Scripture says that when we bless those who curse us, we heap burning coals on the heads of those people. What are “burning coals”? This means that these people may wake up conscience. Our Heavenly Father does not want death for any sinner. Even our enemies need salvation.
Sienkiewicz’s book “Kamo Coming” describes the events that took place during the time of Emperor Nero, when there were terrible persecutions of believers in Rome. There was one hero who entered into the trust of believers, found out who was who and revealed them. And after there were mass arrests, believers were tied to posts. Nero and the traitor passed them by in a chariot. And one of the believers, who was one of the key ministers in Rome, said to the spy: “I forgive you.” These words crushed the traitor. He got off the chariot and began to weep and beg forgiveness for what he had done. And he was burned along with the believers.
God’s mercy is revealed through forgiveness. With our unforgiveness and hatred, we can keep people from salvation and from God’s forgiveness. And, on the other hand, through our right attitude, we can release people for salvation, so that their conscience will be awakened.
This is a difficult time when many people, seeing evil, are filled with evil themselves. But it is important for us to understand that if we allow unforgiveness to enter our heart, then we will be like that salt that will lose its strength. It is clear that God hates sin, evil and idolatry. But many people who have fallen into these extremes, these people are deceived and go to hell. And, unfortunately, people from both sides of the front line are going to hell. If today my brother dies, who is in hatred for other people, then the question is: where is he going?
