When you went to church today, did you think that you might not come home anymore?

Chinese Christians Hei* and his wife Lin* began morning worship at the church they run, not knowing they would not see each other or their home for a month.

On that day, local authorities interrupted the service and arrested 40 people, including children. Hei shows us what it’s like to count hardships as joy (James 1:2).

“It was a really rewarding experience because we got to practice living by faith, not by sight,” says Hei. “Our life has been renewed and strengthened. In the midst of fear, we have personally experienced God’s guidance.”

Today, the couple serves in another Christian community.

“We said yes to the opportunity without hesitation,” says Hei. The couple asks for our prayers. – “We are discriminated. Pray that we will find ways to maintain our livelihood and be accepted by the ethnic community we serve. – Pray for hearts and minds open to the gospel.”
