The other day I read the Gospel! Gorgeous book. The holy apostles wrote. The Lord Himself told them what to write and how, for the book is about God.
So what’s interesting? Our people have always said and even now they still say that God is harsh, terrible, evil and for every mistake He beats mercilessly. And then there will be eternal hell.
And in the Gospel I read that God is not evil at all.
Even such an incredible characterization is in the Gospel: God is LOVE!
Wow!
I almost choked. I liked this word so much: God is LOVE! I began to read it, many and many times. Great! Just great.
It turns out that we are evil, we fight, steal and kill, we take revenge and hate. Why are we fighting? Because we don’t know God Love.
And God just loves us and wants us not to fight, not to kill but to love! Is it possible? Maybe! And it is necessary!
After all, the Gospel says:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him” (John 3:16-17).
I’m sitting here. I rejoice. His Love flows into the soul. Grace arises. Yes, such Grace that I too, am filled with love! You understand!
I’m so angry, I want and I can love!
Here is the gospel! Word of Love! A matter of love! Love itself!
But how can we create something so that love arises and is affirmed in us?
That’s how:
“By obedience to the truth through the Spirit, having cleansed your souls to unfeigned brotherly love, love one another continually with a pure heart” (1 Peter 1:22).
Let us, my friends, cleanse our souls with the truth of the Gospel and live in love!
